Zid (زد)
Zid is a Saudi e-commerce platform that gives merchants a hosted online store with local payment, shipping and point-of-sale options; it exposes a Merchant API and webhooks, and third-party tools are distributed through the Zid App Market.
Zid, headquartered in Riyadh, is alongside Salla one of the two main store platforms Saudi merchants choose instead of building on Shopify or WooCommerce. It bundles storefront, checkout with local methods, shipping partners, inventory and a point-of-sale option for merchants who also sell in a physical shop. Developers register as Zid partners, obtain OAuth access to the Merchant API for orders, products, customers and inventory, and subscribe to webhooks that fire when an order is created or its status changes. Apps can be listed publicly on the App Market or installed privately for a single merchant.
The practical difference between Zid and Salla for an AI project is small: both offer the events and endpoints an agent needs, but field names, authentication flows and rate limits differ, so an integration written for one does not run on the other without adaptation. What matters more for a Saudi merchant is that customers ask on WhatsApp and expect an answer in minutes, in their dialect, about a specific order. An agent tied to the Zid Merchant API can confirm stock, give a delivery status and send the payment link, and a webhook can trigger a shipping update or an abandoned-cart message automatically.
Nano AI supports Zid as one of the standard integrations of its WhatsApp AI agents and its Salla/Zid WhatsApp AI service, and keeps the merchant in control: the agent reads orders and inventory, sends approved templates, and escalates refunds, returns and complaints to a person with the full conversation. Ask any vendor which Zid webhook events they subscribe to, whether the agent can see live inventory or only product descriptions, and how Arabic product names and sizes are handled in replies.
