Meta Business Verification

Meta Business verification is the process where Meta checks official documents to confirm a business is a real legal entity. On WhatsApp it unlocks higher messaging limits, shows the verified display name, and is a prerequisite for an Official Business Account.

Verification happens in Meta Business Manager (Business Settings, Security Center). Meta asks for the legal business name, address and phone, then documents such as a commercial registration, business licence, tax certificate or utility bill in the company's name. In Saudi Arabia that is typically the commercial registration (CR); in the UAE the trade licence; in Egypt the commercial register and tax card. The name on the documents must match the legal name in Business Manager exactly.

Why it matters for a WhatsApp AI agent: an unverified WhatsApp Business account starts with a low daily limit on business-initiated conversations and shows only the phone number to customers. Verification, combined with good quality ratings, lets the limit scale to thousands of unique customers per day and shows your display name in the chat header. It is also the gate to applying for an Official Business Account (the verified badge), which Meta grants selectively.

Common reasons for rejection: a trade name that differs from the legal name, an expired licence, a document that does not show the address, or a website and email domain that do not belong to the business. Nano AI walks clients through verification during the setup phase of every WhatsApp agent so that the go-live date is not blocked by a paperwork loop; it is one of the first items on our two-week launch checklist.
